Covid -19

The Stratford Cinemas Team is so excited to welcome you back to the movies!!

We have been working very hard to make sure that your visit is as safe as possible, working very closely with Public Health and under Government Guidelines and Recommendations.

To our Valued Customers:

***Update March 22nd, 2022

Please be advised that effective Monday March 21, 2022, the Ontario government has advised that wearing masks in most public indoor settings, including cinemas, is no longer mandatory. Therefore, starting Monday March 21, 2022, Stratford Cinemas will no longer require patrons to wear a mask while inside the cinemas. Although it will no longer be mandatory to wear a mask, we do encourage all patrons to continue to wear a mask until they are seated in their auditorium.
At this time, please continue to follow all other COVID-19 safety protocols/processes implemented by Stratford Cinemas such as physical distancing and monitoring for COVID-19 symptoms prior to entering.
Thank you!

***Update March 1, 2022

Effective March 1, guests are no longer required to provide proof of vaccination to enter the theatre. At this time we are still limiting capacity.

Per the provincial guidelines, masks are still required within all areas of the theatre.  You may only remove your mask while seated for the purpose of consuming concession items.

Please be aware this applies to EVERYONE with no exceptions. NO mask = NO entry.

***Update February 12, 2022

We will be re-opening on Friday February 18at at 6:15 pm.  We are still reduced to 50% capacity. All other Covid 19 protocols involving masking and vaccination passports apply.  Please help us to make your return to the movies as safe as possible.  Wear your mask, unless in your seat while eating or drinking, and have your proof of vaccination ready to show the boxoffice personnel upon entry.

We look forward to seeing you all at the movies!!

***Update January 3, 2022

Under new Ontario government restrictions we are closed for 21 days.

***Update December 18,  2021

As of Sunday December 19  at 12:01am, the Ontario government has reduced our capacity to 50% and we are prohibited from selling popcorn, snacks and beverages. Masks must be worn at all times and must never be loosened or removed to eat or drink.
***Update September 22,  2021
Movies theatres fall under the “Mandatory Proof of Vaccination” regulation that comes into effect in Ontario on September 22nd. We apologize in advance for the added inconvenience that this extra step will cause as we continue to welcome you all back to the movies!
Beginning September 22nd, our customers will need to show proof of vaccination and either keep this on their phone, or print it and bring it with them along with government issued photo ID (over 16). For those in the age group of 12-15, another form of ID will be required (health card, student card). Proof of vaccination MUST BE SHOWN before we will allow entry to the theatre.
This temporary process will be in place until the Ontario Government implements its enhanced digital vaccine receipt and app program. Please note that you cannot enter our facilities until after 14 days past your second vaccine. Children 11 AND UNDER will not be required to have proof of vaccination.
We would like to remind you that this is a Government Mandated Policy for us. We have been one of the most regulated industries and have suffered the longest COVID-19 lockdowns. We want to ensure that we do everything possible to ensure the safety of our staff and patrons. We thank you in advance for your continued support and we ask that you please be kind and follow all protocols when attending the theatre. We greatly appreciate your cooperation during this very difficult and controversial time for everyone.
The Management Team

Enhanced Cleaning Protocols and Sanitization:

Cleaning Procedures:

Auditoriums including seats, handrails and children’s booster seats are cleaned regularly with Health Canada approved disinfectants.

Touchpoints are wiped down every 30 minutes or less.

Hand sanitizer is readily available in the lobby, concession and games area.

Engaging with Employees:

Employees are required to stay home if they have cold or flu symptoms.

We are requiring all of our employees to wear the personal protective equipment they need.

Following Canada’s public health guidelines, masks will  be required.  We require that our guests wear a mask and only remove it briefly to eat or drink, after they are seated

Physical Distancing Measures:

In Auditoriums:

Auditorium capacity is reduced to 50% so you will have lots of room to spread out and be comfortable.

Important Reminder: To maintain physical distancing guidelines, for the safety of all our guests, it is important that guests seat themselves six feet apart from other parties.

When leaving the auditorium please do so by rows to allow for physical distancing. Please use back exits when possible to do so.

In Common Areas:

Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your showtime to allow for physical distancing in the lobby.

Showtimes are spread out to limit the number of people in our common areas.

Floor decals and signs indicate distancing guidelines.

Employees will be constantly monitoring all areas of the theatre to ensure physical distancing guidelines are met.

We may ask guests to leave via alternative exits after their show to allow for physical distancing in the lobby.

Payment Methods:

Contactless payment options are preferred and are available at all of our registers. We accept all major credit cards, debit and mobile payment services as well as cash.

If you require assistance, any of our team members will be happy to help.

Maintain physical distancing while waiting in line.

Some stalls and urinals may be out of service to facilitate physical distancing.

We encourage guests to wash hands for at least 20 seconds with warm water and soap.

Arcade Area:

Availability of amusement games may change from time to time.

When games are available, increased sanitization practices are in place to keep machines clean. Guests are encouraged to use the available hand sanitizer before and after playing games and maintain physical distancing at all time.

Symptom-Free Policy:

Guests who experience symptoms of COVID-19, the flu or a cold should not enter the theatre, and should contact Guest Services for a full refund of their tickets.

Our staff must complete a self-health attestation, as provided by the province, that clears them to work. Staff will be instructed to stay home if they do not pass the provincial self-assessment (before their shift starts) or sent home if they begin to show symptoms of COVID-19 or the flu during their shift.
